Philippines · April 2022A typhoon swept the coast and left whole villages without shelter or food — and donors answered within days.

The typhoon flattened homes, drowned rice fields, and cut roads for a week. More than 1,800 people sheltered in schools and chapels with almost no food, no dry clothes, and no clean drinking water.
Gifts totalling $85,000 paid for relief kits, safe drinking water and temporary shelters. Boats carried supplies where trucks couldn't go, and every barangay received aid within the first week.
About 1,800 people were housed and fed through the first weeks, buying their neighbourhoods time to rebuild. Six months later, 90% of families were back in repaired homes, and fishing boats we replaced were back at sea.
"The water took everything in one night. Larkspur's team arrived before the roads reopened — that is something we will never forget."
