India · April 2022Villages hours away from the nearest clinic had no doctor and almost no medicine — until a clinic on wheels began its monthly circuit.

Eighteen villages shared zero physicians. The nearest hospital was a full day's travel away, so treatable infections turned critical, mothers delivered without care, and fewer than a third of children were vaccinated.
We funded a mobile clinic van and a rotating nurse team that visited 18 villages in its first six months — a doctor, two nurses, vaccines, diagnostics, and prenatal kits on a fixed monthly route, with village health workers covering the weeks between.

More than 4,000 patients were treated, and every child under five on the route received routine vaccines. Full immunization coverage rose from 31% to 89%, and not a single maternal death was recorded on the circuit in year one.
"The van comes every month like clockwork. My twins were vaccinated at our own doorstep — I never imagined that."
